AUD501: Fusion 360 Bootcamp

Fusion 360 is a powerful cloud-based CAD/CAM modeling program from Autodesk. This software is ideal for both novices and experts in digital prototyping. Users can execute modeling and tooling functions within a single program, create realistic renderings for presentations, apply built-in mechanical testing functions, and collaborate remotely in real time.

This 8-week bootcamp will get you up to speed on the best uses of the program. Course package includes a 2-month TechShop membership. Participants passing all course requirements will receive Fusion 360 Bootcamp Certificate of Completion.

To prepare for this class, please create an Autodesk account. You may also download the free trial of Fusion 360 here.

This 8-week bootcamp is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, March 7, 2017. This bootcamp meets weekly on every Tuesday from March 7–April 25 at 6:30PM.

AUD130: Autodesk Fusion 360 Basics

Fusion 360 is Autodesk’s latest product development tool for design, fabrication and collaboration. Merging industrial and mechanical design, you will quickly explore organic shapes through intuitive free-form modeling tools, or create precise, parametric models – it’s up to you! Simply put, Fusion 360 is the platform for rapidly accelerating from an idea in your head to a manufactured product in your hand.

In this introductory course, you will learn about:
  • Cloud data management and collaboration
  • Navigation
  • Solid modeling
  • 2D sketching
  • T-spline sculpting
  • Creating assemblies
  • Rendering
By the end of class, you will have an understanding of direct and parametric modeling, dimensioned sketches, T-spline geometry, and much more!

Prerequisites: None!

Safety: Closed-toe shoes are required.
