STEAM1502: Class - 3D Printing

Learn the basics of setup, printing and finishing using TechShop's multiple 3D printers. Three-dimensional printing allows you to quickly and easily create a physical object from a computer model, literally printing thin layers of the part one at a time.This is an easy way to prototype plastic parts and make your 3D designs come to life!

In this class, students will gain a better understanding of 3D printing concepts, terminology and methods.

This class will feature a new project every session, so students can participate multiple times.

This class is for kids ages 8–16.

Parents are not required to stay following student check-in.

Project: 3D print a file

STEAM1503: Class - Basic Arduino: Circuits

In this class students will begin to learn the basics of the Arduino micro controller. Starting with basic circuitry and moving into how it works with the Arduino, this class will give the participants a strong understanding of what it takes to begin to tackle various Arduino projects.

Project: Bread board lights, buttons and switches.

This class is intended for students new to the Arduino world.

This class is for kids ages 8–16.

Parents are not required to stay after checking their student(s) into class.

STEAM1504: Class - Intermediate Arduino

In this class students will begin to dig deeper into what the Arduino microcontroller can do. Using projects centered on inputs and outputs, the students will build on their basic knowledge of Arduinos.

This class is intended for students with a basic understanding of Arduinos.

This class is for kids ages 8–16.

Parents are not required to stay after checking their student(s) into class.

STEAM1853: Workshop - Soldering: Blinky Kit

Learn how to use solder and a soldering iron to make a blinky kit project as well as learn how to solder electronic "through-hole" components for electronic printed circuit board assembly (PCBs).

Students will learn basic solder and flux types, safe soldering practices, and soldering iron maintenance. They will learn to de-solder using various techniques, including a "solder sucker" tool or solder braid.

This class is for kids ages 8–16.

Parents are not required to stay after checking their student(s) into class.

Project: This fun kit is perfect for getting hands-on experience creating electronics projects. PCB and all electronics parts are included in the kit.

Prerequisites: None

STEAM3001: STEAM Gamer's club

Dragon's, giant robots, goblins and fairies have take over TechShop in this STEAM orientated gamers club. Every Tuesday night and Saturday morning the craziest of table top games will take over the STEAM room and it's up to the clubbers to design and build their way through each game. Dice towers, life counters, miniatures and more will all be required to be built as the kids take on some of today's best and wildest board games.
By mixing STEAM elements into the games arena, we hope to give our clubbers a truly unique and fun experience all while maintaining the principles STEAM.



This club is intended for ages 8-14
This club will run every Tuesday night from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, and on Saturday's from 9:30 am until 12:30.
This is a drop in/drop out adventure so if kids can't make every meeting it's no problem as this club will be changing projects and games frequently.

STEAM3002: STEAM Art Club

Sculpting, drawing, and painting take over TechShop in this STEAM orientated art club. Every Tuesday night and Saturday morning all the creative thoughts of the STEAM clubbers will boil over as they use various techniques to bring their creations to life.
By mixing STEAM elements into the world of art, we hope to give our clubbers a truly unique and fun experience all while maintaining the principles STEAM.



This club is intended for ages 8-14
This club will run every Wednesday night from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, and on Saturday's from 9:30 am until 12:30.
This is a drop in/drop out adventure so if kids can't make every meeting it's no problem as this club will be changing projects frequently.
