WKS: Halloween Tombstone Workshop

Halloween Tombstone Workshop

Learn techniques for creating realistic-looking, yet light-weight, faux stone Halloween tombstones from common building materials. The techniques you will learn in this workshop can be applied to create an unlimited number of designs, sizes and styles. Be the envy of your block this Halloween with your own custom and personalized displays. Instructor Steve Frey is a freelance inventor and product developer.

Tools and materials are for the workshop project only, which can be used to make one medium-sized tombstone of your own design!

Please note: This is not a Safety and Basic Use (SBU) class. Workshops utilize TechShop’s equipment, and all shop rules still apply – unless you have passed the required safety course(s), your instructor will assist you on machinery. Membership is required for working in the shop space outside of classes and workshops.

* Since the ShopBot provides the most options to customize and personalize your tombstones, it is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that you have taken the ShopBot SBU before taking this workshop. It will also be helpful, though not necessary, to have taken the Woodshop SBU.

This year we are offering two separate, four-part sessions for your convenience
One workshop will be weeknights beginning Wednesday, Sept 27th @6:00pm, and taking place every Wednesday through Oct. 18nd.
The other workshop will be on the weekends beginning Sunday Oct 1st @10:00 am and run through Sunday, Oct 22nd.
Please double check and make sure you sign up for the correct date and time you wanted.

Unlimited Class Passes and some class coupons are not applicable to this workshop.

Though optional, we'd love for you to leave your completed piece at TechShop Detroit as a part of our very first community build Halloween display that runs through October 29th. You'll be able to pick it up afterwards just in time for Halloween. We'll have more info on this at your first session.

This workshop has now been marked down 20% !!!! Come join the build !!!
