PRO201: 3D Printing TSSF: Type A Machines SBU

3D printing allows you to quickly and easily create a physical object from a computer model, literally printing thin layers of the part one at a time. This is an easy way to prototype parts for machining or injection molding, or just making one-off parts out of convenience.

In this class, you will learn how to import, prepare, and print three-dimensional parts using the Series 1 3D printer from Type A Machines. With the largest build-space available at TechShop, the Series 1 can print larger objects than are possible with other 3D printers.

The class will print a small part that TechShop has designed.

Once you take and successfully pass this class, you can use this equipment for your projects whenever you work at TechShop as a member!

PRO105: 3D Scanning with 123D Catch

Learn how to take full-color 3D scans with a digital camera and a computer, or directly form your iPhone or iPad.

This course will show you how to scan a physical object and create a usable model that can be exported to the laser cutter 3D printer

With such versatile scanning capabilities, you can use the NextEngine 3D scanner to reverse engineer existing parts that are too difficult to take measurements from.

Once you take this class, your resources as a maker and 3D modeler will open up a whole new world!
