	ART110: Introduction to Bookbinding - Coptic Want a beautiful and durable sketchbook? Would you like to learn bookbinding but don’t know where to start? Maybe you just want to learn a style of binding that you can combine with other skills you’re learning at TechShop. Coptic binding lays flat, which is ideal for sketchbooks and journals. The hard covers can be made from a variety of materials, including binders board, wood and metal for endless possibilities. Learn this easy and beautiful bookbinding style by making a blank journal to keep!

	ART103: Silkscreen Printing SBU Have you ever wanted to make your own custom silkscreened T-shirts? TechShop makes silkscreening easy by using vinyl stencils rather than photo-emulsion. In this hands-on class, you'll learn all the basics of silkscreen printing. Your instructor will guide you through the process, including preparing a vinyl stencil, transferring it onto a screen, using the screen to apply ink to fabric and heat setting the ink. If you'd like to print a T-shirt using your own artwork, please bring a simple black and white drawing to use for your design. You're welcome to bring more than one design so the instructor can help you choose which one to use. Only one screen will be created during class. Simple is best; you will be cutting the design by hand! If you have already taken TechShop's Vinyl Cutter SBU class, you may bring in a pre-cut design to transfer onto your screen. Be sure not to weed your design; we'll all do this together in class. Once you take and successfully pass this class, you can use this equipment for your projects whenever you work at TechShop as a member!
