Want to learn how to crochet? In this quick, fun class you will learn the basics and be able to start reading simple patterns and even create your own designs. We will build a simple netting and also a cylindrical shape to hold or wrap objects. You will be well on your way to quickly making any shape you like out of a whole variety of materials.
You get to keep the kit: includes crochet hook, yarn, twine, nylon string.

Making Glass Beads with a Flaming Torch
Make art from molten glass! The process is fascinating - the result is beautiful. Warning: you may become addicted!
You will learn to use a lampworking torch to melt glass, form and decorate your own glass bead. Western-style and Japanese-style torches will be demonstrated. Starting supplies will be provided in class.
For your safety, long pants and long sleeved shirt in natural fibers are highly recommended for this class, and remember to always wear closed-toed shoes at TechShop.
After successful completion of this class, you will be able to use TechShop's lampworking equipment to make additional beads.

Silk Screen Printing Basics
Learn the entire silk screening process, including preparing your artwork and transferring it onto a screen frame, using the screen to apply ink to fabric or other substrate, and heat set the ink. Print your own t-shirt using set patterns and customize it to be your own exciting print! You will get to do a 2-color screen print.

Stained Glass Basics - Foil Method
With a thousand year history already established, stained glass is truly a timeless form of artistic craft. Starting with a little history and discussion of technique, this class teaches all the skills necessary to get started with this unique art form. From art planning, to cutting and soldering using the foiled method, we will complete a 6 inch original piece.
Each kit includes: Oil-fed carbide pencil glass cutter. * Breaker/grozier pliers * Cutting oil * Flux * Flux brush * Copper foil 7/32" * 1lb spool solder * Burnisher * Soldering Iron * Working with Stained Glass instruction book * Several beginning patterns * A small supply of glass for your next project. You get to keep the kit after the completion of this exciting class!
This class has a 2 student minimum for the class to go. PLEASE check in before driving here for this class to be sure the minimum has been met
