TechShop Named to Inc. Magazine’s “Inc. 500 | 5000” List of America’s Fastest Growing Private Companies for Second Year
TechShop ranks No. 611 on the 2014 Inc. 500 | 5000 with three-year revenue growth of 778 percent
SAN JOSE, Calif. , August 20, 2014 --

TechShop, a membership-based, do-it-yourself workshop and fabrication studio, has been recognized by Inc. Magazine as one of America’s fastest growing private companies. TechShop is ranked No. 611 on the seventh annual Inc. 500 | 5000 list.

Inc. Magazine recognized TechShop’s three-year revenue growth of 778 percent, as well as the company’s independent entrepreneurial spirit. Inc. Magazine also highlighted TechShop on its 2014 Inc. 500 | 5000 lists of Top Manufacturing Companies and Top Companies in the San Jose Metro Area, ranking No. 12 and No. 11, respectively.

Methodology
The 2014 Inc. 500|5000 is ranked according to percentage revenue growth when comparing 2010 to 2013. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2010. They had to be US-based, privately held, for profit, and independent--not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies--as of December 31, 2013. (Since then, a number of companies on the list have gone public or been acquired.) The minimum revenue required for 2010 is $100,000; the minimum for 2013 is $2 million. As always, Inc. reserves the right to decline applicants for subjective reasons. Companies on the Inc. 500 are featured in Inc.'s September issue.
