|Carrie Motamedi Named TechShop Vice President of Marketing|
|Motamedi is newest member of TechShop executive management team|
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif.

TechShop, a membership-based, do-it-yourself workshop and fabrication studio, today announced that Carrie Motamedi has been promoted to vice president of marketing and member of the executive management team. She joins chairman and founder Jim Newton, CEO Mark Hatch, and COO and vice president of business development Dan Woods on the core team that guides TechShop and delivers on its promise.

A proven entity at TechShop, Motamedi plays a critical role in branding and promoting the company’s alliances with corporations and organizations that include Autodesk, General Electric, Ford, Lowe’s, and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
As vice president of marketing, Motamedi will oversee marketing, public relations and investor relations, and the evolution of the corporate culture. She will continue to partner with executives and site managers across the U.S. to carry the TechShop mission to members, local communities, partners and makers.
Motamedi joined TechShop as senior director of marketing in 2010, after more than 15 years in technology communications and marketing. At Sun Microsystems, she led public relations, analyst relations and employee communications for a number of executives and products, and drove programs for labs, cloud computing, Java and the microprocessor divisions. Prior to Sun, she worked at Burson-Marsteller, one of the world’s largest public relations firms.
Born and raised in the Detroit Metro area, Motamedi earned a dual degree in English and Advertising from Michigan State University and studied at the University of LondonAbout TechShop, Inc.
