CafeGive Social Partners with TechShop to Provide Social Media Campaign that Benefits American Veterans
TechShop creates CafeGive Social "Pass It On" campaign to promote their offer of free memberships to service veterans. In partnership with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Center for Innovation (VACI) and GE's Get Skills to Work (GSTW) program, TechShop will be giving away one-year memberships to 3,000 U.S. veterans, starting in June.
MENLO PARK, Calif. , June 25, 2013 -- Using CafeGive Social's platform, TechShop has developed a shareable Facebook app with a singular mission: to help America’s veterans gain new skills to become more competitive in the job market and start new businesses in their own communities.

In partnership with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Center for Innovation (VACI) and GE's Get Skills to Work (GSTW) program, TechShop will be giving away free one-year memberships to 3,000 U.S. veterans, starting in June 2013. Memberships include full access to TechShop’s extensive library of tools and resources, along with free training—for one full year. The offer is good at any of their six U.S. locations.

The social media campaign encourages people to share the TechShop "Veterans Video" on Facebook and Twitter with friends, family, coworkers, and veterans in your community. The goal being to generate awareness around their offer and make a difference for a US Veteran. The app makes it easy for supporters to help a veteran simply by watching the inspirational video and sharing.

All a veteran needs to do to become a member is sign up at techshop.com/veterans. Each free membership includes $350 worth of group classes. Veterans can use TechShop's cutting edge training and equipment to become more competitive in the job market or pursue entrepreneurial goals. Program offerings will provide participating Veterans a choice of area of focus as well as guidance in selecting the advanced manufacturing-related courses that best meet their objectives as they transition into civilian life and careers.
