TechShop Named to Inc. Magazine’s “Inc. 500 | 5000” List of America’s Fastest Growing Private Companies
TechShop ranks no. 565 on the 2013 Inc. 500 | 5000 with three-year revenue growth of 798 percent
MENLO PARK, Calif. , August 20, 2013 -- TechShop,a membership-based, do-it-yourself workshop and fabrication studio, today announced its recognition by Inc. Magazine as one of America’s fastest growing private companies. TechShop is ranked No. 565 on the seventh annual Inc. 500 | 5000 list.

Inc. Magazine recognized TechShop’s 798 percent growth in revenue between March 31, 2009 and December 31, 2012, as well as the company’s independent entrepreneurial spirit, which the Inc. 500 | 5000 ranking celebrates. Inc. Magazine also highlighted TechShop on its 2013 Inc. 500 | 5000 lists of Top Retail Companies and Top Companies in the San Francisco Metro Area, ranking No. 37 and No. 34, respectively.

The 2013 Inc. 500|5000 is ranked according to percentage revenue growth when comparing 2009 to 2012. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2009. They had to be U.S.-based, privately held, for profit, and independent—not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies—as of December 31, 2012. (Since then, a number of companies on the list have gone public or been acquired.) The minimum revenue required for 2009 is $100,000; the minimum for 2012 is $2 million.
