Senior Account Manager -- TechShop San Jose & TechShop Mid-Peninsula

DESCRIPTION

TechShop is seeking a charismatic individual who brings (a) a genuine passion for accelerating the pace of innovation, entrepreneurism, and STEAM learning within the great Bay Area, (b) a deep knowledge of Silicon Valley business and civic communities, and (c) experience closing deals ranging from $50K to $500K/year. Success in this position requires achieving financial goals in the form of sales agreements with partners and institutional clients. This is a full-time position.

The Senior Account Manager is responsible for engaging corporations, foundations, civic and institutional partners for the purpose of selling TechShop memberships, training packages, and corporate team building events. These services can be for a partner’s own employees, or set up as “scholarships” for deserving communities such as veterans, high school students, minority entrepreneurs, or underemployed individuals seeking experience and skill development.

Please note: This position covers territory for both TechShop Mid-Peninsula and TechShop San Jose, located in Redwood City and downtown San Jose, respectively.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Develop annual and quarterly sales plans, in conjunction with Vice President of Marketing & Sales and local General Manager (GM), that detail strategies, programs, and activities that will focus on how the Senior Account Manager will achieve sales goals
  • Bring exceptional knowledge of the Bay Area business community and extensive business contacts
  • Have a thorough understanding presenting to institutional and corporate decision makers and influencers
  • Demonstrate the ability to conduct business meetings and carry on business conversations with C-Level stakeholders and decision makers
  • Maximize all opportunities in the process of closing a sale resulting in maximization of account revenue potential
  • Sell consultatively and make recommendations to prospects and clients of the various solutions the company offers to their client’s organization
  • Maintain a database of qualified leads through referrals, telephone canvassing, face-to-face cold calling on business owners, social media, email, and networking
  • Create and conduct effective proposal presentations that identify prospects' organizational problems and requirements, and TechShop solutions to their problems
  • Responsible for sourcing and developing client relationships and referrals
  • Maintain accurate records of all sales and prospecting activities including sales calls, presentations, closed sales, and followup activities within their assigned territory, including the use of Google Suite Services (such as Excel, Gmail, Google Drive, and Google Sites) to maintain accurate records to maximize territory potential
