CNC102: CNC Vinyl Cutter SBU
Class Number 336-39255
In this Safety and Basic Use (SBU) class, you will learn to make your own vehicle signs and banners, and paint masks at TechShop on our computer-controlled vinyl cutter.
You will learn how to import your vector (outline) designs from graphics tools like Adobe Illustrator or CorelDRAW into FlexiStarter, the software used to control the vinyl cutter. After importing your artwork, you will use TechShop's CNC vinyl cutter to cut vinyl sheet into professional looking signage, or ready-to-apply self-adhesive paint masking. This is a great tool for making screens for silkscreen printing, too!
You do not need to take "Concepts of CNC" for this class. You do need to understand how vector-based graphics work, and should be familiar with Adobe Illustrator or CORELDraw. If you are not familiar with either of those programs, we offer classes in both, in the "Computer (COM)" section.
