Class Number 467-29888

Learn how to design and construct wood cabinets and cabinet-style furniture.

In this two-part introductory class, you will learn the basics of cabinet design and construction with an emphasis on today's techniques. You will learn about the parts of a cabinet, discuss how and what woodshop tools to use to create the parts, and techniques to assemble a cabinet. Design and planning techniques will be discussed so you can prepare a design and plan for your first project. You should have an idea of what you would like to build for your project.

Part 1 will take place in the classroom. This session will provide an historical overview of cabinets and their uses and an introduction to cabinet styles, parts of cabinets and construction techniques used to build a cabinet.
