MTL104: Angular Sheet Metal SBU
Class Number 358-26026

In this Safety and Basic Use (SBU) class, you will learn how to safely use basic tools to work with sheet metal.

This class focuses on tools that shear (cut), fold, bend and punch holes in sheet metal. Tools include hydraulic shear, turret punch, slitting shear, corner notcher, finger brake and spot welder. As you learn to use the tools, you will make a small sheet metal box.

Note: The tools cannot be used to make curved surfaces or work with metal thicker than 16 gauge mild steel or aluminum. For making curved surfaces in sheet metal, please see the description for the Sheet Metal - Organic Shapes class. To learn tools to form metal thicker than 16 gauge (0.06", 1/16" or 1.5mm) please see the description for the Basic Metal Shop class.
