WKS801: Jigs and the Woodshop

Jigs are an invaluable tool to streamline your craftsmanship and work more efficiently. Whether you’re a seasoned woodworking professional or a novice, jigs can help you work smarter and faster.
During this workshop, your experienced instructor will build different jigs with you and show you their many uses. You will then use your jigs in the construction of a small finished box. You will also discuss further jig making, including various table saw sleds for simple cuts and bevels, dado cuts, and mitres. TechShop has these jigs built and on-hand for member use.
This is a 4-hour workshop. Upon completion, you will have 4 versatile jigs to take home as well as a unique project that can be stained or painted.
Prerequisite:Successful completion of WOD101: Woodshop SBU is required before you take this workshop

Equipment Access: Woodshop
Safety:Closed-toe shoes, eye protection, short sleeves, and face shield are required. Hearing Protection and particle filter or dust mask when in the woodshop are advised.
