WKS823: Heat Transfer Techniques for Fabric
Class Number 1949-111361
In this workshop, students will use the Universal laser to cut out a design from special heat-transfer material. This technique allows you to make custom t-shirts, tote bags or other cloth-based projects!
You can combine colors to add interest, or make a statement in monotone.
Once the fabric pieces are cut out, you will use the heat press to permanently adhere them to material. Students may also bring in their own t-shirt, tote bag, or other fabric item to use.
Please have a simple vector format design in a digital file to use for this workshop. Black and white photos are acceptable. TechShop will provide one black t-shirt for each student and the transfer material in black, red, blue, silver, and white.
Project: Custom t-shirt
Equipment access: Laser Lab, Heat Press, Computer Lab
Safety: Closed-toed shoes are required
Bring a flash drive or portable drive with your image file. All other materials will be provided.
