TEC108: Magnet Printing SBU
Class Number 1165-52910
Learn how to make a new type of magnet with the MagPrinter. This machine turns ordinary magnets into super strong Polymagnets that behave like springs and latches.
We will cover a basic introduction to magnets, magnet conventions, the Polymagnet catalog of pre-engineered magnet designs, operation of the MagPrinter, and safety for the MagPrinter and magnet handling.
In the hands-on section of the class, you’ll learn the design software for customizing the shape and behavior of your magnet design. At the MagPrinter, each participant will make their very own spring magnet.
