TXL109: Basic Sewing Machines - SBU
Class Number 1097-49882

In this Safety and Basic Use (SBU) class, learn to use both the serger* and sewing machine to sew and hem fabric. Acquire skills to correctly thread machine, fill and place the bobbin, and change the foot. Also learn how to sew straight, zig-zag, basting, and other specialty stitches on the sewing machine. Get hands-on serger experience using overlock stitching to create high quality, soft-feeling seams and fine rolled hems.*

These machines sew through regular-weight fabric, but not heavy duty materials like leather or thick canvas. Go on to create messenger bags, rocket parachutes, clothing, plushies, sails, costumes, and more!
