Do you have an idea, but are unsure if you should even discuss it with others, or wish you had the skills and knowledge to quickly decide how to protect your idea?
Did you know there are several options available to protect your ideas, ranging from copyrights and trade secrets to patents? Did you know that you can get “patent pending” status for your idea for less than $150? And did you know that sometimes the best way to protect your idea is to make it public information?
The journey from the birth of an idea to successful product or business can be a long and arduous path. This workshop will help guide you through the process of quickly and inexpensively protecting your idea so that you can concentrate your efforts on developing and marketing your product.
This workshop will focus on the USPTO patent process, but it will also provide information on copyright, trademark and publishing options for protecting your ideas. Presenter Lou Lippincott will walk you through the entire process for one of his latest patent filings. After attending this interactive workshop, you will be able to write and file your own patent application for no more than the USPTO filing fees and postage!
Attendees are encouraged to bring a flash drive to the workshop and take home completed USPTO forms and sample documents.
