Resin Jewelry Making
Friday, 10/19/2012
6:00 PM to 8:00 PM
TechShop Mid-Peninsula

Like amber but don't have enough patience to wait a million years for nature to make you some? Don’t wait on Father Time – make your own resin jewelry now. Think of all the time you’ll save! With resin, you can cast and preserve almost anything.

In this two-part workshop, you will learn how to use resin to create a jewelry masterpiece. We will explore two techniques – dipping and pouring – using a mold of your choice and our vacuum former (time, material, complexity limitations apply). After the resin piece has cured, you will learn how to mount it.

This workshop takes place over two consecutive days as Part 1 and Part 2, totalling 3 hours. Pricing is for a single piece of jewelry.

Please note: You are signing up for Part 1 of the workshop: creating the resin piece. You must also register for Part 2 if you’d like to assemble your jewelry masterpiece. Otherwise, your instructor will assemble the jewelry item, which you can pick up after the completion of Resin Jewelry Making - Part 2.

Students are encouraged to bring interestingly-shaped items to vacuum form and items to embed in the resin. Items such as seashells, bark or wood will be provided.

This is not a Safety and Basic Use (SBU) class. Workshops utilize TechShop’s equipment, and all shop rules still apply – unless you have passed the required safety course(s), your instructor will assist you on the machine.
