TechShop Chandler is hosting a launch party for the Green Electronics Challenge, an international online competition focused on preventing the creation of electronic waste. The challenge is sponsored by ASU, Tsinghua University, New America Foundation and Slate Magazine.
Participants are challenged to:
- Repair an electronic product
- Upcycle or hack an electronic product to create a new product
- Create a sustainable electronic product
- Create artwork from used electronic products
Submissions accepted from April 7th to May 31.
Prizes include a 3D printer, CNC desktop mill, and other gadgets and gifts valued up to $2500. Winners will also have their idea featured in Slate Magazine. All participants in the challenge receive a free class at TechShop.
