Ford and TechShop, Inc. have come together in a collaborative effort to open a brand new TechShop location in the Detroit area. We welcome all innovators, from backyard tinkerers to software engineers, to use our resources and bring an idea to life or invent the next big thing in automotive technology. Located at 800 Republic Drive, adjacent to Ford's Dearborn product development campus, TechShop Detroit - Allen Park is a 33,000-plus-square-foot facility with a large parking lot and close access to freeways. It is next door to the Detroit Lions practice facility. TechShop is a community based workshop and prototyping studio on a mission to democratize access to the tools of innovation. This brand new location is packed with cutting-edge tools, equipment, and computers loaded with design software featuring the Autodesk Design Suite. Most importantly, TechShop offers space to make, and the support and camaraderie of a community of makers.
Hours and Days of Operation Tours Shop tours are offered between 10 AM and 9 PM on the hour, seven days a week. No reservation necessary. |

Holiday Schedule
So that our staff and instructors may enjoy time with their friends and families, TechShop Detroit-Allen Park is closed on the following days:
- New Year's Eve (closes at 5 PM)
- New Year's Day
- Easter
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving Day (and closes the previous day at 5 PM)
- Christmas Eve (closes at 5 PM)
- Christmas Day
