MENLO PARK, Calif.
, August 20, 2013 --
TechShop,a membership-based, do-it-yourself workshop and fabrication studio, today announced its recognition by Inc. Magazine as one of America’s fastest growing private companies. TechShop is ranked No. 565 on the seventh annual Inc. 500 | 5000 list.
Inc. Magazine recognized TechShop’s 798 percent growth in revenue between March 31, 2009 and December 31, 2012, as well as the company’s independent entrepreneurial spirit, which the Inc. 500 | 5000 ranking celebrates. Inc. Magazine also highlighted TechShop on its 2013 Inc. 500 | 5000 lists of Top Retail Companies and Top Companies in the San Francisco Metro Area, ranking No. 37 and No. 34, respectively.
“TechShop’s inclusion in the Inc. 500 | 5000 list is a validation of both the maker movement as a whole and our commitment to helping makers build and create, whether it’s a hobby or a burgeoning business,” said Mark Hatch, CEO of TechShop. “We are honored to be included on this list among so many great companies and look forward to continuing to grow and to inspire a new passion for manufacturing in America.”
“Not all the companies in the Inc. 500 | 5000 are in glamorous industries, but in their fields they are as famous as household name companies simply by virtue of being great at what they do,” said Inc. Magazine Editor Eric Schurenberg. “They are the hidden champions of job growth and innovation, the real muscle of the American economy.”
