|TechShop Gears Up to Inspire San Francisco|
|Do-it-yourself creative workspace sponsors Bazaar Bizarre and finalizes new SF location|
San Francisco, Calif.
, December 7, 2010 --
TechShop, the first membership-based do-it-yourself workshop and fabrication studio, is sponsoring Bazaar Bizarre, San Francisco's favorite craft fair happening December 11-12 at Fort Mason. At the show, TechShop will demonstrate a selection of advanced machines, tools, and technology that enable crafters and others to make almost anything they can imagine. The display will be just a sample of what TechShop's new downtown San Francisco location at 926 Howard offers hobbyists, inventors, entrepreneurs, artists and students.
"TechShop is a welcome addition to this year's Bazaar Bizarre and a natural addition to San Francisco's creative scene," said Jamie Chan, Bazaar Bizarre founder and owner of Urban Fauna Studio. "Bazaar Bizarre celebrates the creative spirit in all of us. TechShop makes that goal all the more accessible for Bay Area residents who are looking for ways to get back to the art of MAKING THINGS."
"When we started TechShop in 2006, San Francisco was at the top of our wish list for additional locations," said Jim Newton, founder of TechShop. "Our mission at TechShop is to engage, encourage and empower everyone by providing sophisticated machines and tools in 15,000-square-foot workshops. Bazaar Bizarre is exciting to us because it is a community of highly creative people, and TechShop lowers the barrier to creativity by making tools and classes available to everyone."
TechShop at Bazaar Bizarre
As part of the San Francisco Bazaar Bizarre, TechShop will exhibit in spaces 98-99 and 125-126. The booth presents a glimpse of the broad array of machines, tools and instruction that will soon be available to San Francisco area hobbyists, artists, start-ups and others who want to make things but lack the tools, space or skills to do so. TechShop will demo the laser cutter, vinyl cutter and CNC embroidery machine, and host two additional workshops in which participants will make something they can take away with them.
